Similarities Between Sylvia Ji And Rolf Harris

If you are a fan of art work then you are always on the look out for up and coming young artists as well as established experts. However, sometimes you find artists that you not only relate to on an art level but there is something else that captures your interest. Sometimes it is down to the personality of the artist for example, as artists such as Beryl Cook have had a lot of public praise whilst being panned by critics.

Rolf Harris is an artist that is loved by your average family. Mainly this can be put down to our love for his pop songs and TV shows like Animal Hospital. Rolf Harris is also a prolific painter and has even been given the honour of painting the Queen. Rolf’s likable personality comes across in everything he does, which is why he is such a successful celebrity. As a result Rolf Harris prints have sold very well in the UK.

British painter David Shepherd paints landscapes, animals and steam trains. He is a huge steam train enthusiast but is best known for his conservation work. He even started up the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and was awarded an OBE for services to the conservation of animals. Many of artist David Shepherd prints raise awareness of conservation problems.

Sylvia Ji is a unique young artist from San Francisco. Sylvia Ji prints and paintings can be provocative and often use Mexican themes and styles that would not seem out of place in a tattoo convention. Unlike other artists Sylvia Ji has embraced the use of social networking sites like Myspace to market herself and her art. This has made her art increasingly popular, as people can ask her questions and relate to her on a more personal level.

Should You Refinance Your Mortgage Now?

Many homeowners are considering taking advantage of today’s historically low interest rates by refinancing their mortgage. In many cases, they are able to save hundreds of dollars per month by refinancing. Whether mortgage refinancing makes sense for you can be easily determined by doing some simple math.

The first consideration is how much lower your new interest rate should be than your current rate. There is a common belief that if current rates are more than 1.5 to 2 percentage points lower than your current rate, then you should refinance. That’s a good starting point, but there is more to the story than just the raw interest rate.

Your real concern should be the total cost of the mortgage refinance both in the short term and the long term. The total cost includes not only the monthly mortgage payment (principal plus interest), but the closing costs, as well. Closing costs typically include such things as:

  • Appraisal fee
  • Credit Report fee
  • Processing fee
  • Commitment fee
  • Tax Service fee
  • Flood Certification fee
  • Discount points (if any)
  • Title Insurance (based on mortgage amount)
  • Recording/Notary fee
  • Per diem Interest
  • Real Estate Taxes
  • Home Insurance (percentage of mortgage amount)

Adding all these up can easily run into several thousand dollars, even without discount points. This is money that must be paid at the loan closing. In the case of a mortgage refinancing, lenders often advertise “no closing costs”, which is a bit misleading. The truth is that there ARE closing costs, but they are paid out of the proceeds of the loan rather than the pocket of the homeowner. This is possible when the homeowner borrows against the equity in their home as part of the refinancing.

As an example, let’s say that your home is worth $175,000. Your original mortgage was for $125,000 over 30 years at 7% interest. You still owe $100,000 on the original mortgage. The closing costs for your refinance are $3,000. If you simply refinance the $100,000 amount at a lower interest rate you will reduce your monthly payments, but you will have to pay the $3,000 closing costs out of your own pocket. If you choose the “no closing costs” option, your $3,000 closing costs will be paid by simply borrowing the additional money against the equity in your home (i.e. the value of your home less the amount owed). Your mortgage will now be for $103,000 instead of $100,000.

So, what about that widely held 2 percentage points belief we mentioned earlier? The monthly payment for a 30-year $125,000 mortgage at 7% interest is $831.63. For your new 30-year $100,000 loan at 5% interest, the monthly payment is $536.82, a savings of almost $300 per month. If the new mortgage is $103,000, the monthly payment is $552.93, still saving you over $275 per month. In this scenario, considering only the monthly savings, you would recoup your closing costs in as little as 10 months.

Sounds great, right? Well, there’s another factor you need to consider. If your original mortgage was $125,000, you’ve been paying on it for 152 months to get the principal balance down to $100,000. Therefore, you have 208 months left before the mortgage is paid off under the original terms. If you continue without refinancing, you’ll pay an additional $172,978 (208 months at $831.63 per month).

If you refinance your mortgage for the $100,000 you currently owe, you’ll pay on it for 360 months at $536.82 plus the $3,000 closing costs for a total of $196,255.

$172,978 <– payout without refinancing

-196,255 <– payout after refinancing

-$23,277 <– difference

In this case, by refinancing you will end up paying an additional $23,277 for the new loan over the original mortgage. This works out to about $775 per year, which may be acceptable to you in order to have the lower monthly payment now. You are the only one who can make that decision based on your personal financial situation. The important thing when refinancing your mortgage is to consider all the ramifications.

This is another of today’s money secrets that can help you get the most for your money in today’s lending market!

DVR Video Spy Cameras

Covert surveillance is sometimes the only way to watch your assets carefully. People are very sneaky when they know where the cameras are and tend to get around them somehow. Let me give you a few examples.

Take the cash register, it’s filled with your assets in the form of cash and other people are handling it everyday. You’ve put in the typical overhead dome camera, color or black and white to watch your register. Many employees are able to cover up and avoid detection form the overhead camera.

In this case you need a security camera surveillance system at the counter or to the side of the register that’s covert. A mini camera that looks like and is a clock radio may be the answer.

Other covert camera systems come in the form of a wall clock, flash light, pen, a button or even sunglasses. Of course these are not ideal cameras for the cash register but come in handy for other covert operations. The nanny or babysitter is not going to suspect a flashlight or a pair of sunglasses as a camera. Video and sound can be recorded with many of these systems or they can be used just as a real time monitoring device.

Some systems can hold hours of recordings in a CCTV DVR format that you can quickly look at in minute’s right from your computer. With the digital DVR format you are able to freeze frames with no distortion for perfect viewing. Cash amounts can be seen clearly and the recording can be used in a court of law to assure convictions.

Keep a Covert Camera System in mind when setting up your new business or remodeling. Visit the Brickhouse Resource Center and explore your options.

A Trip to the Dog Park

Near my house is a neighborhood where just about everyone has a dog. Some of them even have two or three dogs. As a result, not only is the neighborhood very noisy, but it is also very dog friendly.

Most of my neighbors are getting on in age. The only dogs that ever seem to come into and out of the houses around here are lap dogs and dogs that are just barely old enough to jump up and down the front steps. I know my dog is rather lonely and bored.

A few months ago, I was walking through this neighborhood that has so many dogs in it and thinking, “wouldn’t it be nice if I could introduce my dog to some of these dogs?” Then, just as I turned the corner, I was pleasantly surprised to find a brand new, roped off dog park.

On the inside of the fence surrounding this dog park, there were about a dozen dogs running free from their dog leashes with one another. They were jumping and dancing and having a great time.

My dog got so excited he literally pulled me over to the gate. As soon as I let him run free inside the gate, he ran straight to the middle of the pack. I huddled around the fence with the other doggy parents as we watched our pups play with their dog toys.

After about a week of going to the dog park, I began to make friends with the other dog owners who took their dogs there regularly. Friendships were struck, and we started planning “people activities”, like coffee and shopping, where we could include our dog pals..

Now our activities regularly include gathering at the dog park and then walking to the local coffee shops. We take outings with the dogs, like to the river, and spend time with other dogs in the park. Dog walking has turned out to be a great way for me to find new friends and develop several long term friendships.

My dog now always looks for and expects his new people friends to join us when we’re walking alone. As soon as I take him off the leash, he runs as fast as he can to the doggy park! We are lucky to have so many dog friends and like-minded families living near us.

Stop the Growth of Basement Mold

Can you prevent basement mold from growing and wreaking havoc in your basement? The answer is yes! Let me show you how.

Moisture is the number one element which makes a basement conducive to mold growth. So it is imperative that your basement be kept dry at all times. Very common causes for the presence of water in your basement are leaking pipes and ceilings and defective plumbing. A 24-hour delay in fixing them can give basement mold a headstart and send it on its way.

Increase air flow in your basement by keeping the door and windows open and installing electric fans. If ventilation is adequate in your basement, chances for basement mold to grow are lessened. Keep furniture or other objects a few inches away from the wall to allow air to circulate.

Clean your basement and vacuum floor on a regular basis to remove mold spores. Carpets, beddings and curtains should also be washed and thoroughly dried regularly.

Droplets of water on your basement pipes or windows indicate condensation and are a sign of high humidity. Dry these surfaces immediately. Cover cold items in your basement like water pipes with insulation to decrease condensation.

Purchase a humidity meter to monitor humidity level. Keep it at below 60 percent. Even better, buy a humidifier and install it in your basement. It will suck the moisture out of the air and prevent dampness.

If there is a bathroom in your basement, install an exhaust fan to suck moist air out of the bathroom while the shower is running since this will promote mold growth.

In the event of a hurricane or typhoon and you will be covering your furniture with plastic, make sure it is very dry. Seal the plastic on all sides and wrap the furniture tightly to protect it from high humidity which is a result of hurricanes.

Putting a stop to basement mold is not as complicated as it looks. All it needs is a little of your time and effort and a lot of determination.  Visit Basement Remodeling Ideas website for more tips on basement remodeling and basement maintenance.

Female Hair Loss Explained

Although more likely found in men, female hair loss is quite a common problem too, and if hair loss for men can cause self consciousness you can multiply that a 100 times when it come to thinning hair in women. Lets have a look at the subject in a bit more detail:-

The technical term for female hair loss is androgenetic alopecia and figures for women suffering from this are surprisingly high with approximately one in four women suffering from this in one form or another. If you learn a little more about your hair cycle then you will start to have a better idea to answer your question are you actually going bald?

The hair grows in cycles and it works out that at ninety percent of the hair is growing and ten percent is in the resting phase at any one time, during the resting phase it is perfectly normal for you to shed hair. You can always do a test to see if you are losing more hair than you should be and that is by getting say twenty strands of hair between thumb and forefinger and then slowly but firmly tug them. If half a dozen or more come out then that is a sign you may be losing your hair.

So what causes hair loss in women? Well there can be many factors including things like stress or diet, but probably the biggest one is hormonal. There is a hormone called DHT which is thought to be responsible for hair loss. DHT is caused by an excess of testosterone in the body, for men this is a natural occurrence but for women it is a cause of unbalance. The unbalance occurs because normally the estrogen in a woman controls testosterone but if a woman has just had a child or is menopausal then the estrogen level will be low and this can result in DHT and hair loss.

So can anything be done to prevent it? Well there are options out there such as prescription drugs and hair transplants, but more and more people are wanting to look at natural and effective remedies to help control their hair loss and I cover these and more on the site that is all about how to prevent hair loss.

Read more about the causes of vaginal itching

Causes behind vaginal itching burning are varied but most usual known are chemical irritants contained in certain products. Content based chemicals that come in contact with the skin which inspire irritation are detergents, fabric softeners, feminine sprays, ointments, douches, contraceptive foams or jellies.

One recognized indication of vaginal yeast infection is a discharge - white in colour and curd-like texture. Known yeast infection causers are antibiotics, birth control tablets, menstruation, pregnancy and diabetes, even johnny use and sexual intercourse. However employ a frenchie when joining in sex. A feeble immunity mechanism can make you subject to infection.

There is nothing more shameful than having an itch on the vagina when out socializing. It’s funny if you think about it, if an itch is on the end of your nose, your head or ear you scratch it with no regard for who stands before you, but when it’s round the crotch/anus then how we obtain relief is not so openly done. Could this have something to do with why the lovelies are called the privates, thus the privacy between fingers meeting up with the itchy vagina? O.K it doesn’t look good to scrawb at your bits when in the company of people, but an itch is an itch and made for scratching.

And another thing is, what must folks think for why you scratch i.e. pubic lice ( crabs ) or perhaps VD might even cross their mind. Now you can always retreat round the corner out of the way to scratch, or find the cause for your itchy vagina and cure it. There are numerous reasons responsible for a vaginal itch or anus one. If you itch because you’ve a vaginal rash then this is simply treated and rid using home treatments, however and more often than not an itchy vagina comes about from vaginal infections.

Common irritants - These can include a change in soap, detergent, douches, vaginal creams, vaginal contraceptive products, toilet tissue, and female cleanliness products. If you have made a change in any of these products, it could be the source of the itch. STD’s - Sexually transmitted disease are also causes of vaginal itching and irritation.

It’s vital to seek medical treatment if you suspect that your itching could have come from having unprotected sex. Leaving it to chance can only make the problem worse and cause other major health issues. Menopause - Changes in estrogen levels is known to trigger itching. The fluctuation of estrogen levels with the thinning of the vaginal wall causes dryness which leads to itching. Bacterial vaginosis - This is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. Having bacterial vaginosis is a common cause of burning, itching, and pain. Yeast infection - The yeast infection is usually the first reason for vaginal itching. Symptoms can include itching, burning, oder, and a cottage cheese like discharge.

If you suspect that you are having thrush, it is terribly treatable and can even be treated at home. However, if you are unsure, you are always better off consulting with your doctor for proper treatment.

Selecting a Shade For A Backsplash

These days kitchen backsplashes are generally meant to do much more than protect your kitchen’s wall from the food spills.

Backsplashes have now been delegated the very important aesthetic part to play. A well crafted backsplash can add loads of appeal to even the most unappealing kitchen.

Wonderful kitchen backsplash design ideas can work miracles - if you know just how to design a kitchen backsplash , that is.

A backsplash may turn the kitchen into a gorgeously beautiful kitchen. The color is one very significant of décor elements of a backsplash that makes all this possible.

Your aim should be to blend the shade with pattern and texture. When deciding on the colors of your kitchen backsplash, adequate care must be ensured so that they complement the cabinets and the countertop. Complementary shades or changes on a main color results in a conventional look. You should give serious care to the color of your kitchen’s backsplash since it bridges the countertop and cabinet.

Backsplashes made from tiles painted in sea green and sea blue result in a fresh, vibrant appearance. These brightly colored tiles can be used as accents or as a separate design for a part or whole of the backsplash. These colors are best when they are paired with cabinets or countertops that have a light earthy tone.

The selected kitchen backsplash color should also blend with the permanent fixtures like faucets and lighting. It is not as vital to match them with appliances since they keep changing. It should be kept in mind that a very well colored backsplash can turn the entire kitchen area a lot more attractive.

Since the kitchen is a place where the family often gets together you might give it a beautiful appearance by having your backsplash painted in warm shades. You may even paint it in solid colors in case they blend with the other parts of the kitchen. When it comes to kitchen backsplashes, color possibilities are endless. Just select any colors whatever others opine.

Have You Ever Thought About Exciting Concept Cars

Concept cars, or cars designed according to a certain theme or older model, are generally prototypes introduced at car and motor shows to gauge consumer reaction and appeal. This gained almost instant popularity with the general public. Beautiful to behold, concept cars show off radical, futuristic designs, powerful engines and sometimes even controversial technology. However, tempting as these concept cars may appear under the spotlight, many of them often undergo changes before being put on the production line by their manufacturers, and all of them are subjected to alterations that make them more suitable, and affordable, to their target markets.

In fact many concept cars never even reach this stage due to impractical design glitches and cost factors. Image is one aspect of sports car. An interesting example of an old, operational concept car being brought back into service would be the 1954 Ford Lincoln Futura, which after having been stored in the North Hollywood car shop of George Barris came out of storage to rise to stardom as the Batmobile of the 1966 Batman series on the ABC Television Network. On the same note, current examples for concept cars would be the Mercedes-Benz bionic car (this is said to combine the best of nature, technology and the ever popular DaimlerCrysler engine), the 2006 BMW Mille Miglia concept coupe (based on the earlier BMW 328 Touring coupe and the BMW Z4 M coupe), the Camaro Concept sports coupe (which follows the lines of the first Camaros) and the Chrysler Imperial Concept 2006 (a direct descendent of classic Imperial and Chrysler designs).

For instance flowers like the Poinsettia are known to bloom only during the winter season, more specifically during December. The best way to select the type of annual flowers that you want is to decide which flower varieties you want to see. When you start selecting your annual flowers you can buy hardy annuals, half hardy annuals and tender annuals.

Unlike other annuals these hardy annual flowers don’t like hot weather as they are not heat tolerant. We can also use annual flowers. The half hardy annual flowers include torenia, snow-on-the-mountain, blue sage, strawflower, baby’s breath, candytuft, bells of Ireland, celoma, love-in-a-mist, and forget-me-nots.

Unlike tender annuals these half hardy annuals have no need of warm soil conditions for the seeds to begin sprouting. While some flower species can’t tolerate lots of hot summer weather the half hardy annuals may sometimes droop for the weather but they will perk up in the later summer months. Since these annual flowers grow well in warm climates you can expect to see them in all of their glory in the late spring and the warm months of summer. You will also have the added benefit of flowers that grow in different seasons adding a burst of color right through the year.

In the fictional form comic books like Batman comics are a firm staple for people of different ages. As the newest crime fighter Batman was a huge success.

As many of the comics of during the 1939 to 1949 period were depicted as pulp fiction the Batman of that period was given many of the traits that for that time. Unlike the other superheroes Batman was not given any super powers or special abilities. The way to find good quality memorabilia is to take your time. To make batman’s character seem more human the creators of the series later added other characters to the Batman comics.

The various villains who appear in the Batman comics are also well known. While many changes have been brought to the Dark Knight Batman comics are still comics that are read by many people.
